Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated on 6 November 2026.

Scope of the Policy and Services Covered

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all bookings and purchases made through scribexo for specialised training courses focused on live production decks and control rooms. These include instruction in multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, and professional management of television and streaming productions. The policy covers both in-person and online course formats offered to customers located in the United Kingdom. It governs payments, cancellations, refunds, and related consumer rights for these educational services only and does not extend to third-party equipment purchases or unrelated consultancy work.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges

All listed prices are in British Pounds Sterling. Course fees include applicable Value Added Tax at the prevailing UK rate unless otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply for optional extras such as printed course materials, certification fees or extended access periods. scribexo reserves the right to adjust prices for future bookings; however, once a booking is confirmed the price is fixed. Customers are responsible for any bank or payment processing fees incurred on their side.

Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security

We accept payments via major credit and debit cards, bank transfers and approved digital wallets. All card transactions are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. Payment authorisation occurs immediately upon submission of booking details. scribexo does not store full card details. Customers will receive an email confirmation once payment clears. In the event of a declined payment, the booking will not be secured until funds are received in full.

Order Confirmation and Contract Formation

A binding contract is formed when scribexo sends written confirmation of the booking after receiving full payment or a valid deposit. This confirmation email outlines course dates, location or access details, and the total amount paid. Until this confirmation is issued, no contract exists and any provisional reservation may be cancelled without penalty. Customers should review all details carefully upon receipt of confirmation.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers in the United Kingdom generally have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date the contract is concluded during which they may cancel without reason. For digital or online courses, this period may end earlier if the customer begins accessing course content. In-person courses may be cancelled within the same window provided no services have commenced. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via the contact form on the Contacts page or by emailing info@trainingfortv.com.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are available for cancellations made within the statutory cooling-off period or where scribexo cancels a course due to insufficient enrolment or unforeseen circumstances. No refund is provided once a course has started or after the 14-day period expires. Deposits for future courses, promotional bundles and non-transferable certification fees are non-refundable. Partial attendance or dissatisfaction with course content after commencement does not qualify for a refund.

Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund

To request a refund, customers must submit a written request including their full name, booking reference number, course title and date, and the reason for cancellation. Requests should be sent to info@trainingfortv.com or through the contact form available on the Contacts page. The request must be received within the applicable cancellation window. scribexo will acknowledge receipt within five working days and may request additional supporting information if needed.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification of the Refund Decision

Upon receiving a refund request, scribexo will review eligibility against this policy and applicable UK law. Customers will be notified of the decision by email within ten working days. Approved refunds will include details of the amount and expected processing timeline. Rejected requests will state the specific reason, such as expiry of the cooling-off period or course commencement. Customers may appeal a decision once by providing further evidence.

Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds

Approved refunds are issued using the original payment method wherever possible. Processing typically takes between five and fourteen working days after approval, although bank transfer refunds may require additional time depending on the customer’s financial institution. Customers will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been processed. It is the customer’s responsibility to check their account statements.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers

Digital course materials and online access are treated as digital content under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Access begins upon confirmation and login credentials are provided, which may limit cancellation rights once content is downloaded or streamed. Subscription-style repeat bookings follow the same 14-day rule per individual course unless otherwise agreed. Promotional offers and discounted packages remain subject to the standard refund conditions; early-bird rates are not refunded at full price if the customer later qualifies for a higher rate.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud

In cases of failed payment, the booking remains unconfirmed until resolved. Duplicate charges detected by our systems will be refunded automatically within seven working days. Customers who initiate chargebacks without first contacting scribexo may have future bookings declined. Any suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the appropriate authorities and may result in immediate cancellation of the booking without refund.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom

Nothing in this policy affects statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the Data Protection Act 2018. Customers retain the right to claim compensation for services that are not of satisfactory quality or as described. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. Where a conflict arises between this policy and mandatory law, the law prevails.

Contact Route, Policy Changes and Last-Updated Date

For questions about payments or refunds, please use the contact form on the Contacts page or email info@trainingfortv.com. scribexo may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in law or business practice. The current version will always be available on the website and the date of the most recent update appears at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
