Legal Information
This Legal Information page explains who operates this website, the legal form and registration details behind it, the terms on which you may access and use the site, and the rights and obligations that apply to visitors, learners and corporate clients. It forms part of a set of documents that should be read together. Please read it in full before you browse, create an account, or book a training course.

1. Who We Are and Our Role as Website Operator
scribexo operates this commercial website as a provider of specialist training in live production decks, galleries and control rooms. Our teaching covers multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation, vision mixing, talkback and tally practice, and the professional management of television and streaming productions. We deliver this training to individuals and to organisations — broadcasters, production companies, live event suppliers, sports and entertainment venues, corporate communications teams, studios and education providers — in the United Kingdom and internationally.
In this page, "we", "us" and "our" mean scribexo, and "you" means any person who visits the website, uses its features, or enrols on a course. The website's principal role is to inform you about our courses, let you compare options and dates, take bookings and payments, deliver pre-course materials, and support learners afterwards. It is not a broadcasting service, it does not transmit live video, and it does not host user-generated media.
Educational services only
All content published on this site — course descriptions, syllabus outlines, equipment lists, demonstration material and scheduling information — is provided for information and instruction. Nothing on the website constitutes professional engineering, health and safety, or regulatory advice for a particular production, and it must not be relied on as a substitute for site-specific risk assessments, employer procedures or broadcaster compliance rules. Where our training touches on regulated broadcasting matters, we teach general good practice; the legal responsibility for a transmission remains with the licence holder.
2. Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers, Licences and Responsible Representatives
scribexo is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales and registered with Companies House. It is a body corporate with its own legal personality, which means the company — and not its directors personally — is the party that contracts with you and the party that owns the website and the course materials.
- Company Registration Number: 02867466
- VAT Registration Number: GB 645 085 923
- Country of incorporation: England and Wales
- Legal form: private company limited by shares
- Registration authorities: Companies House, and HM Revenue & Customs for tax matters
Responsible representatives: the company is managed by its board of directors, whose names, appointment dates and service addresses are filed with Companies House and are available for public inspection free of charge. The directors are the persons responsible for the content of this website and for the accuracy of the statements made on it. Where the law requires a named representative for a particular purpose — for example, in correspondence about data protection — the directors act in that capacity.
Licences and permissions
Providing broadcast and production training in the United Kingdom does not require a licence from Ofcom or any other sectoral regulator, and no such licence is held or claimed. Some activities demonstrated during training, such as the use of radio microphones or short-range wireless links, are the responsibility of the production that holds the relevant apparatus licence; we teach the applicable rules but do not ourselves hold a broadcasting licence. Training delivered at a client's premises is carried out under that client's own permissions, inductions and insurance arrangements.
Insurance and financial standing
We maintain professional indemnity and public liability insurance appropriate to the delivery of practical training both on and off our premises. Confirmation of cover, and any certificate a client needs for its own contractor records, can be requested through the contact route described in Section 3.
3. Registered Office and Available Contact Details
The registered office of scribexo — the address at which formal legal documents may be served — is Rutlands, Main Street, South Littleton, Evesham WR11 8TJ, United Kingdom. Correspondence sent there is logged and forwarded to the relevant team. Our operational and training locations are given to delegates in their joining instructions, which are issued after a booking is confirmed.

Our administrative office hours are Monday to Friday 09:00–18:00, Saturday 10:00–14:00, and closed on Sundays and public holidays in England. Enquiries received outside those hours are normally acknowledged on the next working day. For booking amendments, transfers, cancellations and refund requests, please use the written channels set out in our Terms and Conditions and Payment and Refund Policy so that your request is recorded with a date and time.
Formal notices
Formal notices to scribexo under a contract for training should be sent by email to info@trainingfortv.com and, where the contract requires it, followed by post to Rutlands, Main Street, South Littleton, Evesham WR11 8TJ, United Kingdom. A notice is treated as received when the email is transmitted, or two working days after posting within the United Kingdom. Notices to you will be sent to the email address or postal address you supplied when booking; please keep those details current, because we may rely on the last address you gave us.
4. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website
The website exists to promote, sell, schedule and support professional training in live production. Its scope includes multi-camera studio and outside-broadcast workflows; vision mixing and switching; camera operation and shading; real-time video and replay operation; signal flow, talkback and tally practice; broadcast standards and compliance basics; live streaming and contribution over IP; and the management of television, sport and entertainment productions from a control room.
The intended audience includes working and aspiring broadcast technicians, vision mixers, camera operators, streaming engineers, technical directors, production managers, corporate communications and internal-events teams, students on film, television and media production programmes, and organisations that run their own studios, arenas or live venues. Content is written for readers in the United Kingdom and internationally; where a practice differs between jurisdictions, we say so and teach the United Kingdom position by default.
What this site does not do
- It does not award accredited academic qualifications; our certificates are attendance and assessment records issued by scribexo.
- It does not provide recruitment, job placement or freelance representation.
- It does not publish user reviews, forums or community-generated content.
- It does not sell broadcast hardware, software or equipment.
Where course pages describe equipment — switchers, routers, replay servers, cameras, audio desks, intercom systems or encoding platforms — the descriptions are indicative. Manufacturers revise firmware and feature sets frequently, so the exact model used on a given date may differ from the one shown. We will tell you about any material change before your course starts and, where a change reduces the value of the training, our Payment and Refund Policy applies.
5. Access to the Website and Acceptable Use
We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access this website for the purposes described in Section 4. Browsing is free of charge, but you are responsible for your own internet connection, device and data costs, including any roaming charges. We do not guarantee that the website, or any part of it, will always be available; see Section 7 for the limits of that commitment.
Your account
If you create an account to book a course, you must give accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity carried out under your credentials. Accounts are for the named individual or, where a company books seats, for the delegates named on the booking. Sharing credentials, reselling seats, or transferring a booking to another person without our written agreement is not permitted, except as expressly allowed by our Terms and Conditions.
Prohibited conduct
When using this website you must not:
- breach any applicable law, including the Computer Misuse Act 1990, the Fraud Act 2006 and data protection legislation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers or any connected system, or probe, scan or test its vulnerability without written permission;
- introduce malware, denial-of-service traffic, scraping bots or any other harmful material or automated load;
- extract, harvest or republish course descriptions, syllabuses, price lists or tutor biographies for use by a competing service;
- post or transmit material that is defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, obscene, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- impersonate scribexo, its staff, its tutors or another learner;
- use the website or its contact form to send unsolicited marketing.
We may suspend or terminate access, cancel a booking, or decline future bookings where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken, or where it is necessary to protect other learners, our staff or our systems. Where access is suspended for a breach, any refund or credit is dealt with under our Payment and Refund Policy.
Conduct and recording during training
Our courses are practical and some sessions take place in working galleries where client material may be visible. Filming, photographing or audio-recording teaching sessions is not permitted without the tutor's express consent, and never where confidential client material, third-party contributors or other learners are identifiable. Where we record a session for internal quality purposes, we tell you at the start. Recordings we make of your participation remain our property, and any use beyond training administration and quality assurance requires your consent.
6. Ownership and Permitted Use of Content, Trademarks and Other Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in this website and in the material published on it — text, layout, graphics, photographs, diagrams, signal-flow charts, video and audio material, course syllabuses, exercise briefs, assessment rubrics, slide decks and the underlying code — are owned by scribexo or licensed to it. They are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, by database right, and by equivalent laws in other countries. All rights are reserved.
What you may do
You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference, and you may quote short extracts with clear attribution to scribexo provided the quotation is fair, accurate and not misleading. Delegates enrolled on a course may use the materials supplied to them for their own professional development and within their employing organisation, subject to any additional licence terms set out in the enrolment agreement.
What you may not do
- copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit or distribute any substantial part of the site or of the course materials;
- use our content to train, fine-tune or benchmark a machine-learning model, or to build a competing course, dataset or knowledge base;
- remove or obscure copyright notices, watermarks or attribution;
- create derivative works, translations or adaptations without prior written consent;
- use our name, logo, course titles or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or accreditation where none exists.
Trademarks and third-party marks
The name scribexo, our logos and our course names are trademarks of the company. Other product and company names appearing on this site — including the names of switchers, cameras, encoders, replay systems, intercom systems and software platforms used in our training — are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification and instruction only. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, those owners.
Reporting infringement
If you believe that material on this website infringes your rights, contact us at info@trainingfortv.com with details of the work concerned, the location of the material on our site, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on the rights holder's behalf. We will investigate and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material promptly.
7. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limits of Liability
We take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date. Course schedules, venues, tutor allocations, equipment lists, prices and availability change, and we may update them without notice. Prices include VAT where stated; where VAT is not stated, it is added at the prevailing rate. Typographical errors and obvious misstatements do not bind us, and we will contact you before processing a booking affected by a material error so that you can confirm or cancel it.
Availability and maintenance
We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict access to all or part of the site for maintenance, security or business reasons. Where a planned interruption affects a booked course or an assessment deadline, we will use reasonable efforts to give advance notice and, where necessary, an alternative arrangement.
No warranty of professional outcomes
Training improves skills but does not guarantee employment, promotion, accreditation or a particular technical result in a live production. You remain responsible for the safe and lawful operation of your own productions, for compliance with broadcaster, platform and regulatory requirements, and for the operational decisions you take in a gallery.
Limits of liability
Nothing in this page excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (services performed with reasonable care and skill), or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that:
- we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or goodwill, or loss or corruption of data, in each case arising in the course of a business;
- our total liability arising out of or in connection with a course is limited to the fees paid for that course;
- where you use the website free of charge, our total liability in connection with that use is limited to £100.
These limits are proportionate to the nature of our services and do not reduce your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. External Links and Third-Party Content
The website may link to third-party websites, standards documents, manufacturer manuals, software downloads, mapping services, or booking and payment providers. Those links are provided for convenience and reference only. They do not mean that we endorse the site, its operator or its content, and we do not control them.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices or content of any external site, and we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from your use of it. If you follow a link, you leave our website and become subject to the terms and privacy policy of the destination site. We recommend reading those documents before you provide personal data or make a payment.
Payment and platform providers
Card payments, and any financing options we may offer, are processed by regulated third-party providers. Those providers collect payment data directly; we receive confirmation of the transaction and limited billing details. Their terms apply to the payment itself, while our Terms and Conditions govern the training contract.
Framing and linking to us
You may link to our home page provided you do so in a fair and lawful way that does not damage our reputation or suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement. You must not frame our site within another site, or link from a site you do not own, without written permission. We may withdraw linking permission at any time.
9. Cross-References to Our Other Legal and Policy Documents
This page forms part of a set of documents that together govern your relationship with scribexo. They are written to be read together, and where a topic is covered in more detail elsewhere, this page refers you to the relevant document.
- Privacy Policy: how we collect, use, store, share and delete personal data, our lawful bases, retention periods, international transfers, and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Cookie Policy: the categories of cookies and similar technologies we use, their purposes and durations, and how to accept, refuse or withdraw consent through the site-wide cookie banner and your browser settings.
- Terms and Conditions: the contractual terms for browsing the site and booking a course, including booking and payment, delegate substitution, conduct during training, intellectual property in course materials, and termination.
- Payment and Refund Policy: accepted payment methods, invoicing, deposits, cancellation deadlines, transfer fees, no-show rules, refunds, and how cooling-off rights apply to bookings made at a distance.
- Accessibility Statement: our approach to accessible web content and the reasonable adjustments available to learners with disabilities or specific learning needs.
If there is a conflict between this page and the Terms and Conditions in relation to a booking, the Terms and Conditions prevail for that booking, except where this page reflects a mandatory statutory right that cannot be varied by agreement.
10. Data Protection, UK GDPR and Cookies
We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, for electronic marketing and cookies, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). For the purposes of that legislation, scribexo is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect and why
- Booking and account data (name, work email, telephone number, organisation, billing address, access or dietary requirements) — to administer your course, take payment and issue records.
- Course participation data (attendance, assessment notes, exercise outcomes) — to deliver training and issue certificates.
- Website and cookie data (device, browser, approximate location, pages viewed) — to keep the site secure and to understand how it is used.
- Marketing data — only where you have opted in; you can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link or by writing to info@trainingfortv.com.
Cookies and consent
Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the site cannot function without them. Analytics, preference and any marketing cookies are set only after you have given consent through the site-wide cookie banner, which also lets you refuse non-essential categories or change your choice later. You can additionally delete or block cookies in your browser, although parts of the site may then behave differently.
Your rights
You have the right to be informed, to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to erasure in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects; we do not carry out such processing. To exercise a right, email info@trainingfortv.com. We respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
11. Consumer Protection, E-Commerce and Distance Selling
We comply with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and related United Kingdom consumer law.
- Before you book, we give you clear information about the course content, the tutor, the venue or delivery method, the total price including VAT, the date and duration, and your cancellation rights.
- Where a booking is made at a distance — online or by telephone — a 14-day cancellation right normally applies from the day the contract is concluded. Because a course place is reserved for a specific date, that right ends 14 days after booking or when the course begins, whichever is sooner, and once a course has been fully delivered the right no longer applies.
- Where you ask us to begin a service during the cancellation period, for example by accessing course materials or attending a session, you may still cancel, but we may charge a proportionate amount for what has already been supplied.
- All prices are inclusive of VAT where stated. We do not apply payment surcharges above the cost of the payment method used, and no charges are added at the end of checkout.
- If a course is significantly changed or cancelled by us, you may choose a substitute date or a full refund of the fee paid for the affected course.
Nothing in this page or in our Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights, and we do not seek to exclude them.
12. Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights
This website, and any contract concluded through it, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from access to, or use of, this website or from a training booking, subject to the mandatory protections set out below.
- If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country, and the mandatory consumer protections of that country continue to apply.
- If you are a consumer resident in another country, nothing in this page removes the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
- For business customers, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, and the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 does not give any third party the right to enforce these terms.
Alternative dispute resolution
Under the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015, we confirm that ADR is available for consumer disputes and that we are not obliged to, and generally do not, participate in an ADR procedure. We will always try to resolve a complaint directly first, using the procedure in Section 13. If a dispute cannot be resolved, you may approach a certified ADR provider or, for data protection complaints, the Information Commissioner's Office.
Language
These terms and all related documents are provided in English. Any translation offered elsewhere on the site is for convenience only, and the English version governs.
13. Complaints, Changes to This Page and Contact Route
How to complain
- Raise the issue with your tutor or the course administrator during, or immediately after, the course.
- If it is not resolved, write to us at info@trainingfortv.com within 30 days of the course end date, describing what happened, the outcome you are seeking and any supporting documents.
- We acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and aim to give a full response within 20 working days.
- If you remain dissatisfied, ask for the matter to be escalated to a director, who will review the file and reply within a further 20 working days.
Changes to this page
We review this Legal Information page regularly and update it to reflect changes in law, regulation, our internal processes or the services we offer. The version published on this page is the current one. Where a change materially affects your rights or an existing booking, we will highlight it on this page and, where we hold your email address for transactional purposes, notify you directly. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised page.
